AirForestry develops autonomous electric robots for forestry operations. Our initial product focuses on commercial thinning, a practice that unlocks forest growth and valuable timber by removing small and weak trees so the remaining ones have room to grow, and one that forest owners spend €14 billion a year on. The practice creates more resilient and more valuable forests. Conventional thinning, however, clears more than 20 percent of the stand just to reach those trees, and each of the two 20-ton machines involved requires its own operator. AirForestry instead uses a two-person crew to oversee multiple drones, at ten times the productivity. Each drone flies into the stand, selects individual trees, delimbs them, cuts them, and lifts them out, without touching the forest floor.

Full-scale field testing is underway in Sweden together with SCA, Holmen, Stora Enso, and Sveaskog through the Swedish AirForestry Pilot Project (SAPP).

Ligolin, developed at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, transforms industrial waste, primarily lignin, into 100% biobased, recyclable thermoset materials. Unlike conventional fossil-based thermosets, which are incinerated or landfilled at end of life, thermosets obtained from resins can be reprocessed and reused. A patent application covering our core resin technology has received a notice of grant. Targeted applications for our resins include electronic insulation, potting compounds, surface coatings, composite matrix and automotive sealants.

Our multi-disciplinary team, spanning wood chemistry, polymer science, and materials engineering, is currently validating the resin application with industrial partners in the electronics and composites sectors, testing real-world performance and gathering feedback to guide further development. We are actively seeking commercial partners and business developers to bring the innovation to market.

At the Tech & Innovation exhibition, Neurobus will showcase how neuromorphic vision and edge AI can make autonomous aerial systems faster, safer and more energy-efficient. Through video demonstrations, visitors will discover our complete counter-drone system, combining passive ground-based detection, classification and tracking with autonomous terminal guidance for interceptor drones using either net-based capture or kinetic effectors. Designed to operate in GPS-denied and visually challenging environments, the solution aims to detect and intercept hostile drones before they can threaten critical infrastructure or sensitive sites. Through field-test footage and interactive presentations, we will demonstrate how our neuromorphic vision systems capture motion with sub-millisecond latency while generating far less data than conventional vision systems. We will also present civil applications, including detect-and-avoid for aviation and autonomous navigation. The exhibition will offer an opportunity to explore collaborations with Swedish and European partners in aerospace, defence, sensing, embedded computing and industrialisation.

Northern Waves designs and manufactures high-performance RF components using a proprietary fully metallic additive manufacturing process. Antennas, waveguides, filters and feed structures that traditionally require multiple machined parts and assembly are instead produced as single monolithic pieces, improving RF performance while reducing mass, lead time and cost. The process also enables geometries previously impractical to manufacture, including components from millimetre-wave up to sub-THz frequencies.

Combining in-house RF engineering with its own production, Northern Waves supports customers in defence, space, telecom and automotive, from design and simulation through to series production, having worked with more than 70 clients and delivered over 1,000 components.The company is now scaling with a new facility capable of up to 15,000 components per year, meeting growing European and global demand.

REVCOO is a French climate-tech company developing CarbonCloud®, an innovative carbon capture solution designed to meet industrial realities. The Swedish-French Language Foundation was established by a Swedish Government decision in 1979 with the aim of increasing trade between Sweden and France.

To promote trade between Sweden and France, the Foundation provides employees of Swedish companies and organisations engaged in exports, imports or other commercial activities related to France with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the French language and French business culture, as well as to broaden their understanding of France.

Greater knowledge of French business language and business culture is essential in order to better leverage the significant potential of the French market and succeed in doing business with French partners.

The Foundation is administered by the Swedish Trade and Invest Council (Business Sweden) in cooperation with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in France, under the supervision of a dedicated committee comprising representatives from the public and private sectors. Virtwin-Energy is showcasing Ignite-AI, an AI-driven engineering simulation platform designed to make advanced physics-based simulation faster, more accessible and more autonomous. Ignite-AI enables engineers to interact with simulation tools using natural language, while AI agents can assist with model setup, simulation execution, parameter studies, analysis and automated reporting. The platform currently focuses on process and combustion simulation, with CFD capabilities under development as the next major extension. This builds on the company founder’s 10+ years of research expertise in CFD and multiphysics, with 30+ international scientific publications. At the exhibition, we will demonstrate how AI agents can orchestrate physics-based simulations and turn complex engineering workflows into an intuitive, governed and scalable process—supporting industry in optimising energy-intensive processes and accelerating the transition toward more sustainable energy systems.

Wallenberg Wood Science Center, WWSC, is a research center with a focus on new materials from trees and is, since it’s start in 2009, Sweden’s largest initiative in the field. WWSC is a joint research center between KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Chalmers University of Technology and Linköping University. The base is a donation from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), and the Swedish industry is supporting WWSC via the national platform Treesearch.

The activities in WWSC are based on the vision that the forest can offer sustainable bio-based alternatives to today’s fossil-based materials, in applications such as packaging and the automotive industry, as well as providing new types of materials. The research goals are set in a long-term perspective, and the research activities span from wood components to novel wood-based applications.

WWSC currently engages ~75 faculty members/researchers, ~55 PhD students in the graduate school WWSC Academy and ~20 postdocs.
